In bowling, a “strike” is knocking all ten pins down in one attempt. When consecutive strikes are made, each row is named something different. Famously, a “Turkey” is completing three strikes in a row, for example. A spare is knocking all ten pins down in the two attempts given in a “frame,” or turn in bowling, so it is displayed as a half strike in this diagram.
